After receiving well over 200 votes in the Wyoming County tagline contest, the Wyoming County Chamber and Tourism office is pleased to announce that with 52% of the votes, “Our Home, Your Adventure,” was chosen as the winning entry. The winning tagline was submitted by Tim Lawton, from Preble, NY. He will receive a $50 Wyoming County Visa gift card, and well-deserved bragging rights. The second-place entry was “Adventure is in Season,” submitted by Laura Steves, from Attica, NY.
“Congratulations to the winner and we thank everyone for participating. We are very pleased with all the interest and activity that this fun contest generated,” said Scott Gardner, President of the Wyoming County Chamber and Tourism office. “It is heartening to hear from so many people that have a passion about where they live and recognize all the great aspects of Wyoming County.”
“We promote Wyoming County regionally, nationally and internationally, and this tagline is inviting and welcoming while promising plenty of fun and excitement to tourists from around the world,” said Eric Szucs, Director of Tourism and Marketing. “It also companions perfectly with our main tourism theme of outdoor adventure – and with high-volume tourism attractions like Letchworth State Park, this tagline is something we can utilize in promotional and marketing campaigns.”
Contest entrants were asked to submit a tagline that was no more than ten words to make it quick to read and catchy. Three entries were allowed per person, and all ages invited to participate in the fun contest. Following a narrowing down of over 60 submissions, the public voted via online poll for one of the three finalists. The tagline will now be used in a variety of media in the promotion of Wyoming County through the tourism program.
