The Wyoming County Chamber and Tourism will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of the new Independent Living office in Wyoming County on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 12:30 PM at their new home in the Community Action for Wyoming County building. The Independent Living office will be hosting an open house following the ribbon cutting from 12:30 -4:30 PM.
Independent Living of the Genesee Region has been serving Wyoming County residents since 2010, but from their Batavia location. This new office will make it easier for people to access their services and receive assistance with Housing, Employment, and the Department of Social Service issues. They also help with applying to and understanding Social Security Benefits. In addition, they help with Personal Care Aides in the home and applying for Medicaid. They assist anyone with a disability, which can be temporary or permanent; either physical, mental health, intellectual, or an addiction. To meet with an Independent Living Specialist, you may drop in or by appointment. Office hours are 12:30-4:30 Mon-Thurs.
The public and media are encouraged to attend the open house and ribbon cutting.

On Saturday, May 27, 2017, the Wyoming County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism office, the Arcade and Attica Railroad, and the Arcade Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a 100th Anniversary Celebration and ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the Centennial of the Arcade and Attica Railroad.
Members of the Arcade and Attica Railroad Board of Directors and staff will be on hand to welcome guests. Arcade Historian, Jeff Mason, will offer remarks on the history of the Arcade and Attica Railroad, with additional remarks made by dignitaries. A train trip will take place at 11:00AM and cake and refreshments will be served at the Curriers station upon arrival. On Friday, June 2, 2017, the Wyoming County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism office will celebrate a ribbon cutting at the Grand Opening of the seven room Sportsman's Suite at River Spring Lodge located at 1961 A Church Road, Darien Center, NY. The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be at 6:00 PM followed immediately by a reception. Guests are invited to mix and mingle while enjoying complimentary hors d'oeuvres, wine, beer and soft drinks.
