The Wyoming County Chamber and Tourism office in partnership with the Arts Council for Wyoming County is pleased announce the second annual Women’s Business Summit to be held Thursday, August, 27th at the Beaver Hollow Conference Center/Biggest Loser Resort Niagara.
The summit will run from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM and will feature a keynote speaker, break-out sessions, and a panel discussion featuring Wyoming County business women. General admission is $100 per person and $75.00 for Chamber members.
“We are very pleased to once again host the Women’s Business Summit with the Arts Council at Beaver Hollow. This is a great venue for the Summit and offers a unique environment to spend the day learning and growing together,” said Scott Gardner, Wyoming County Chamber President. “Like last years’ event, we hope to bring our women business owners, professionals, and entrepreneurs some unique opportunities to hear from dynamic presenters, on a wide range of issues that are relevant to the workplace today.”
“I am very excited that we can bring Brooke Rewa to the Women’s Summit as the keynote speaker. I knew she was a trained nutritionist and was very interested in the business that she started, and her personal story of a mysterious illnesses to wholeness through her juice nutrition is intriguing,” said Jackie Hoyt, Executive Director of the Arts Council for Wyoming County. “Brooke’s local connection as a Letchworth Central School graduate, and her experience with the importance of health and wellness for any business woman seemed like a perfect match for her to be invited as our keynote speaker this year.”
This year’s keynote speaker will be Brooke Rewa, a Castile native who graduated from Letchworth Central High School. After graduation she attended The University of San Francisco and earned her degree from Buffalo State College in Television and Film Arts. Brooke has always been interested in health and wellness and became much more involved after coming down with a mysterious illness shortly after moving to Los Angeles in 2009. After doctors were unable to find a cause or treatment Brooke decided to take matters into her own hands and heal with food. Seeing major improvements, mainly from juicing, Brooke decided she needed to help spread the word about the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle. This lead to the launch of Renew Juicery and a standard of only providing products that are the best possible quality and meet the highest standards. Just this year Brooke also launched a storefront business called Cold and Thirsty: the first ever Juicery and Cryosauna in the United States.
Featured breakout session speakers include the following:
- Robin Wilson, founder of the “Wilson Edge,” presenting “Social media and your business: How to do it the right way.”
- Leslie Bamann, Business Development Manager, Finger Lakes Innovation Hot Spot, presenting “Growth opportunities for women-owned small businesses.”
- Judi Laird, Owner/operator of Judi Laird Draperies, on “Color and how it affects the workplace.”
- Sue McCartney, from the Small Business Development Center, “The new culture of the workplace.”
